Well said Rita.. el tirano, I cannot say what is in my heart for him, especially for the bloodshed of 11A.

I remember seeing small glimpses into that day on our t.v. here. So sad! And see how it's gone down hill since then!

I am so sorry such a beautiful county has to be in bondage to such a horrible tyrant. God is still on the throne, but it is very hard to be patient for His justice to reign.

On a lighter note, I read your Saturday post and had to really chuckle. It seems that I have two posts yet in my mine, and they both involve a lot of work on my part, so I'm trying to figure out what to do next. No recent blog fodder has presented itself. Maybe today!

I love the post about the new convert. It is so wonderful that he used his meager funds to call your husband and tell him the GOOD NEWS. That's what it is all about!

Our pastor's son and family are not going to Paraguay after all - their little daughter is too young for vaccination against Yellow Fever, and apparently it is prevalent right now.

Last, please come over to my Friday Show and Tell and let me know what you think. Thanks!

I have often lamented the current state of Venezuela, especially considering that, under Betancourt, it was such a center of Latin American democracy that the Trujillo, the dictator of the Dominican Republic, tried to have him assassinated (and very nearly succeeded) because Trujillo feared what democratic ideas would do for the region.

See La Ira del Tirano: Historia del atentado de Los Próceres by Miguel Guerrero.

(Trujillo required the residents of the Dominican Republic to post a placard in or on their houses that read, "In this house, Trujillo is boss." My friend Juan's grandfather went to jail for refusing to display one.)

(That reminds me, I still have another book on Trujillo to read, somewhere, in e-book format. Time!)

Tyrants are all alike. It's all about them and they care nothing for anyone else... ever!
